How do the new watch parties work?

Since Facebook will switch off the watch function on April 16, 2021 and thus no further watch parties can take place directly on Facebook, we had to switch to another platform.
This is called Watch2gether and can be found at http://www.w2t.tv.

Here is a little guide on how you can more easily participate in future watch parties:

HOW DO YOU REGISTER WITH HTTP://WWW.W2G.TV?

You visit the page http://www.w2t.tv and can register there for free (https://w2g.tv/auth/sign_up).
All you need is an email address, a password of your choice and a user name.
Ideally, this is your Facebook account name. So you can better recognize each other. But it doesn't have to be.
You can safely ignore the option "Activate notifications on this device".
You will now receive an e-mail to the e-mail address you provided with a link that you can use to verify your account.
After verification, you can design and edit your profile.
You can find this on the top right.
Among other things, you can also upload a profile picture there.
You can also recognize each other more easily in this way.
You do not need to subscribe to the "+ Plus" option.
Now you can join the Gothiccommunity as a full member of the Watchparty under this link:

HOW DO YOU JOIN THE WATCH PARTY?

• Every week, as before, you can find it in the announcements in the community

WHAT ABOUT THE CHAT?

• You can find the chat on your home PC or MAC at the bottom right.
• You can find it on the mobile device directly under the video player.
• In this chat you can use emojis as well as GIFs and you can even upload pictures from your device.
• The chat itself is not saved. There are also no reactions like on Facebook. Everything is temporary.
• Unfortunately, you cannot mention individual people.

HOW CAN I INVITE SOMEONE TO THE WATCH PARTY?

• As always, this goes through the created event on Facebook. There you will find the usual "Invite" button, which you can use to invite your Facebook friends and group members.
• At the top right of the page from http://www.w2t.tv, in the watch party window there is a yellow button "Invite friends". You can use this to choose different platforms through which you can invite your friends.
